INDIANA FEVER 2026 FORECAST

WRITTEN + EDITED BY JORDYN BONTRAGER

With the opening tipoff of the 2026 WNBA regular season just over a week away, it is officially about that time to let the imagination wander off into the land of hypotheses as to how things could play out for the Indiana Fever in the season to come.

After the WNBPA and league big wigs finally reached a new, historic CBA agreementearlier this year, Amber Cox and her front office companions retained their core crew while making a few subliminal (that adjective could very easily transition to substantial over the course of the next few months) additions to the supporting cast. While none of the team’s offseason acquisitions may have been front-page headliners, do not lose memory of the Fever’s run to last year’s semifinals despite an extremely injury-depleted roster. With a wave of momentum on their side and a few perennial contenders potentially taking a step back in the standing this SZN (example: Minnesota), this could quite feasibly be the year that Stephanie White leads the Fev Show over the hump.

Now (you know), Indiana still has a pair of preseason tilts to tackle before finalizing it’s official 12-woman roster for the regular season, but we have a pretty solid idea of how the depth chart could/should project when the dust settles. Furthermore, given this core’s compiling chemistry both on AND (arguably more importantly) off the court, we’ve also got a hunch on what each player’s individual output could look like assuming/praying this squad can sustain a clean bill of health this SZN.

STARTING LINEUP

PG = Caitlin Clark | 6’0” x 157 LBS x 24 YRS

  • 28 MPG x 17 PPG x 3.5 RPG x 8 APG x 4 TOPG x 1.5 SPG x 0.5 BPG x 42% FG x 35% 3FG x 90% FT

  • At the end of the day, this franchise will go as far as Caitlin Clark takes it. For Caitlin, it all boils down to staying healthy and on the court (played just 13 games last year). If she can avoid the injury bug, it might be a wrap as it pertains to the MVP race…

SG = Kelsey Mitchell | 5’8” x 155 LBS x 30 YRS

  • 29 MPG x 19 PPG x 2 RPG x 2.5 APG x 1.5 TOPG x 1 SPG x 0 BPG x 47% FG x 41% 3FG x 79% FT

  • Mitchell has been a blessing for the Fever since she was drafted in 2018, but last year she was nothing short of a godsend. We all witnessed the undeniable synergy between Mitch x CC in 2024, and a bulked up Clark should require even more opposing attention thus opening up even more opportunities for KM to do what she does best: put the ball in the basket.

SF = Lexie Hull | 6’1” x 155 LBS x 26 YRS

  • 27 MPG x 9.5 PPG x 5 RPG x 2 APG x 1 TOPG x 1.5 SPG x 0.5 BPG x 40% FG x 38% 3FG x 77% FT

  • Hull remained one of the W’s greatest X-factors throughout the regular season last year, but we saw a heightened sense of aggression offensively come playoff time. Expect her boosted confidence to translate to an uptick in shot attempts for Hull, and you already know what to expect on the less glamorous end from one of the game’s most sticky perimeter stoppers.

PF = Monique Billings | 6’4” x 192 LBS x 29 YRS

  • 16 MPG x 5 PPG x 4 RPG x 1 APG x 0.5 TOPG x 0.5 SPG x 0.5 BPG x 49% FG x 25% 3FG x 74% FT

  • Billings did not sign with Indiana with any intention of putting up big numbers, so do not expect her counting stats to jump off the page. However, her physicality will serve to benefit the P&R playmakers and relieve Aliyah Boston of some wrestling duties down low in the trenches.

C = Aliyah Boston | 6’5” x 220 LBS x 24 YRS

  • 30 MPG x 16 PPG x 7.5 RPG x 2.5 APG x 1.5 TOPG x 1 SPG x 1 BPG x 55% FG x 30% 3FG x 75% FT

  • Aside from A’Ja Wilson and Napheesa Collier, can you honestly name a better big in the WNBA right now than Aliyah Boston? The answer is no, you cannot.

BENCH

PG = Raven Johnson | 5’9” x 150 LBS x 23 YRS

  • 10 MPG x 2.5 PPG x 1.5 RPG x 2 APG x 1.5 TOPG x 1 SPG x 0.5 BPG x 37% FG x 20% 3FG x 65% FT

  • While the rookie shined in her preseason debut, do not be stunned when she experiences some struggles in the area of offensive efficiency this year. Where she can really make her mark this SZN will by way of her pesky ways as a point-of-attack defender, while simultaneously sponging as much wisdom from CC for future application.

SG = Tyasha Harris | 5’10” x 152 LBS x 27 YRS

  • 10 MPG x 3.5 PPG x 0.5 RPG x 1.5 APG x 0.5 TOPG x 0.5 SPG x 0 BPG x 44% FG x 40% 3FG x 75% FT

  • Harris knows how to score points, and could put Stephanie White in some difficult minute-allocation decision scenarios if she continues hitting triples the way she has been in recent memory (45.5 % 3FG, 39.5% 3FG and 46.4% 3FG in the past three seasons, respectively).

SF = Sophie Cunningham | 6’1” x 165 LBS x 29 YRS

  • 20 MPG x 6 PPG x 2 RPG x 1 APG x 0.5 TOPG x 1 SPG x 0 BPG x 45% FG x 42% 3FG x 85% FT

  • While Caitlin Clark has been the undeniable key to the Fever’s recent uprising, Sophie Cunningham is ultimately the team’s heart and soul. If she can basically reciprocate her performance from last SZN, this SZN will have been another massive success for Soph.

PF = Makayla Timpson | 6’2” x 173 LBS x 23 YRS

  • 10 MPG x 2.5 PPG x 2 RPG x 0 APG x 0.5 TOPG x 0.5 SPG x 0.5 BPG x 54% FG x 15% 3FG x 67% FT

  • Timpson’s time should be on the horizon, but that next step we are all hoping for is more likely to come to fruition a year from now. For the time being, Timpson should continue making her presence felt as a paint patroller on defense and athletic freak (dunk[s] inbound?) offensively. Also, do not be surprised if we begin to see her test the waters from deep as she gradually progresses in her development.

C = Myisha Hines-Allen | 6’1” x 200 LBS x 29 YRS

  • 12 MPG x 3 PPG x 3 RPG x 1 APG x 0.5 TOPG x 0.5 SPG x 0 BPG x 46% FG x 28% 3FG x 76% FT

  • Like Billings, MHA joins Indiana as a trusted, gritty veteran capable of leaving her fingerprints all over a game without much to show for it in the box score. Hines-Allen is all caps TUFF, and her gritty nature will come in handy against some of the league’s most lethal low-post threats.

C = Damiris Dantas | 6’4” x 214 LBS x 33 YRS

  • 5 MPG x 2 PPG x 1.5 RPG x 0.5 APG x 0 TOPG x 0 SPG x 0 BPG x 41% FG x 34% 3FG x 75% FT

  • Dantas may not see many minutes this year, but the continuity she has established with the organization bodes well for her chances of sticking around. It is always nice having a floor-spacing big of her specimen on the bench.

F = Justine Pissot | 6’4” x 162 LBS x 22 YRS

  • 3 MPG x 1.5 PPG x 1 RPG x 0 APG x 0 TOPG x 0 SPG x 0 BPG x 40% FG x 37% 3FG x 70% FT

  • Honestly, Pissot might be the steal of this draft when all is said and done. She is a 6’4” guard, although the team will more than likely look to utilize her in the frontcourt looking ahead to the future. Her combination of size and shooting is a commodity in today’s day in age, and we are very excited to see what the future holds for the rookie from Vanderbilt.

G = Jessica Timmons | 5’8” x 163 LBS x 23 YRS

  • Timmons, the team’s third and final draft pick this year, should be set up for a small role on a Development contract. Her shooting ability and defensive energy will be a luxury for the coaching staff to turn to in cases of emergency.

G = Megan McConnell | 5’7” x 145 LBS x 24 YRS

  • Perhaps the team could sign 30-year-old Shatori Walker-Kimbrough (team-high 18 points in the preseason opener) and relegate Pissot to a Development contract, but we like the idea of the franchise signing the sister of Pacer-legend TJ McConnell. By the way, she is a hooper and you can check her collegiate tape if you disagree.

FINAL PREDICTION: FEVER WIN THE WNBA TITLE IN 5.

NOW YOU KNOW.
